Manicure Monday: Ombre Take 2

I loved the Ombre the 1st time I tried it HERE.

This time I wanted to try it again using a wet sponge (This definitely made it easier to apply)

I also reversed the colours to fade out to white – almost like a french manicure.

To finish it off, I added a top layer of subtle sparkle.

Subtle Ombre

This would look nice for Christmas with a red nail faded to white and perhaps a bit of Christmas glitter. I might just give it a try for the holiday period, what do you think?
I think the Ombre is one of my favourite nail art techniques so far because there are just so many colour combinations that can be tried.

Manicure Monday – The Ombre

Recently while bored I tried out a new nail design.

A simple white bar over my teal nail polish. I had so many compliments on it I decided to start experimenting with new ideas

After joyfully reuniting with Pinterest, I found some amazing ideas.

My favourite was the Ombre manicure

My Ombre
My Ombre

It involves 3 shades of a nailpolish pressed onto your nail with a sponge. (It’s a messy business, but the result is pleasingly different)

I used –

White

Pale natural pink

Neon pink

– to achieve the result above.

I am not sure about the obvious contrast – so I would love to try this with a candy pink as my 2nd shade and use the pale pink for shade 1.

Oh my hat – She’s back!

Hello Blogger-verse, how is everybody doing?

Can you belive how the time has flown?

Things have been a whirlwind of drama, work and more work!

Lying in bed with a bad case of almost-pneumonia, I finally get the chance to update properly.

Lots going on in my life – I can’t wait to share it with you!

I will tell you more about my overseas trip once I can figure out how to get all the Notes off my iPad onto my pc.

Note to any future iPad owners out there – make sure you get the one with 3G – without Wi Fi access, your iPad is just one giant iPod Touch – trust me!

So speaking of iPad – have a look at my beauty – I fell in love with her while overseas (because they have wifi at most places)

Why do I love her?

  1. When I read books I don’t need a light as she is backlit
  2. I can update Twitter in a really fun application.
  3. Thanks to IMO I can chat to all my contacts on Skype, MSN, Facebook, Google, you name it – all in 1 application!
  4. She makes my photos of my future husbands look devine.

I named her: iPrincess

Don’t you just love her pink cover?

I spent hours agonising over which cover to take; the nifty leather cover that also enables her to stand up, or this pink rubber cover that looks pretty.

I kept asking myself:

I am 31, and a career woman – the leather one is what I should take isnt it?

But you are only 31 – you are young and funky, take a cover that suits your personality.

But I am 31, this is more mature

But you love pink and it will match your Blackberry!

Pink it was!!

It’s all about accessorising Dah-lings….
