Hubba Hubba

So while I have been having a bad day week, Tee and I have hardly had a chance to touch base at all.
It is my birthday next week and I have not discussed party plans, gift wishlists or travel plans for September with her.
Tee and I are usually in contact on a daily basis. All manner of things gets discussed.
But anyway – look at what she sends me yesterday. Almost as if she knew I needed some Hot Eye Candy:

Weekly Recap

This past week has been a very busy one!

On Saturday was our regular book club meeting.
This week the theme was 80s.
I had alot of fun with my hair crimper and blue eyeshadow & wish I had taken a close up photograph.
This was the overall result:

On Sunday the girls & I went to watch Dark Shadows and had sushi for lunch. I do love Johnny Depp in these roles, however I felt that a part of the storyline was so random & a bit over the top, but otherwise it was entertaining enough for a day out.

On Tuesday I went to my friend AC to watch Vampire Diaries, I do so enjoy that series!

Wednesday was a girls night out movie at Ster Kinekor and we watched The Lucky One with Zac Efron. I expected to cry more seeing as it was a Nicholas Sparks adaptation, but it was a good movie. Taylor Schilling is an actress I have not seen before, but I must be honest and say that she really irritated me for some reason. I can’t put my finger on it, but I didn’t enjoy her acting too much.
The love scene with Zac though, that man’s body is delicious and his eyes – oh I could get lost in them. I have always had a weakness for dark hair and blue eyes!

On Thursday we had dinner with a supplier at Mythos and I tried a steak topped with feta cheese and olives. Simply delicious.

Friday was a frightfully dreadful day at work, making me happier that I at least sent in my Top Billing audition papers. That night I did some home decorating and put up my new wall art vinyl stickers in my bedroom as well as revamped my fridge:

It was harder than expected, & instead of going to the gym, I curled up on the couch with my kitties and watched quite a few episodes of Secret Circle. I am loving this series too!

Saturday I had breakfast with my friend at Design Quarter and then went on a huge window shopping spree. I didn’t buy anything, but then got home and regretted it.

I even cooked a meal for myself (we should be getting snow) I cooked roast chicken last week and this week was a delicious fish and salad. Who knew I had it in me.
Lately after my body has decided to reject everything I usually eat I am having to become more innovative and it seems cooking from scratch is the way to do it.

Today I went back to the shops and bought a new pillow – I have not slept well these past 2 weeks and I am hoping that apart from stress, that it is because of my pillow.
I also bought a gorgeous photo frame which I can now fill with photos and put up on my wall.

I bought a totally unnecessary mug which says “faking It” My life motto is

If you don’t Feel it, Fake it

So you can understand why  I bought it! 🙂
I also finally invested in a spaghetti spoon, I make too much mess trying to dish spaghetti up with a fork.

I am now off to the gym. Bleh.

While the rest of you are sitting on your couch snuggling, think of idiotic me and shake your head as you ask what on earth I was thinking.

The Lucky One with Zac Efron

I am a big fan of Nicolas Sparks books/movies and The Lucky one is his latest book-turned movie.
Starring my cutie pie Zac Efron, this looks like a good movie. I will be sure to bring my tissues with, because we all know that no Sparks novel leaves a person dry-eyed.
Check out that love scene, yummy topless Zac…. *drool*

Zac Efron is a Hottie!

You all know that I like my men young.
Watch this video where he sings to Ellen with Taylor Swift – what I would not do to have that man in my bed….

Chase Crawford….

… makes my knees go weak!

This hottie is my new obsession think it has anything to do with his un-canny resemblance to Zac?)

Since discovering Gossip Girl (yes I am a bit late – purely because I never thought it would be my thing) I have fallen in lust with Mr Nate Archibald. He is sexy and I  adore his eyes and his voice… he can whisper sweet nothings to me anyday!

I am only on Season 3, but I am really hoping that we get to see a it more of Nate’s character develop. I love his friendship with Dan and I love the way he fits in equally as well in the loft as he does at a fancy dinner dressed in a tux. Nate seems to be a genuine “good guy” with a naughty sense of humour (just the kind I like)

Watch out for Mr Chace Crawford – look what’s in store…..

He was scheduled to play the lead in the remake of Footloose but dropped out. Zac Efron was also tied to the project at one point before dropping out as well. My boys do have something in common besides the sexy hair & gorgeous blue eyes.
A romantic comedy Responsible Adults – starts filming this year. Chase plays opposite Katie Holmes. Shooting is expected to start in the fall in Los Angeles.

The House Gun – Chase signed to play a lead role of South African man accused of murder in a new independent film based on a novel by South African author Nadine Gordimer. The movie will also star Pierce Brosnan.
Chase will star along with Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lopez in What to Expect When You’re Expecting – release planned for May 11, 2012.

Can’t wait to see more of him!

Friends

I love my friends – all of them – because they are hand-picked by me to be in my life.

I am especially loving my girls who have recently been there for me without even knowing it.

This past long weekend we have seen alot of each other & it really has been fun.

My weekend went something like this:

    My obsession: Johan
  • Went to the last ever performance of Eden – was bittersweet. Was awesome when Jay saw me in the crowd & excitedly waved at me and the entire audience turned as one to see Who on earth ? he was waving at. Tee & I have had many fun evenings watching Our Boys & we have tons of self-portraits to show for it
  • Watched Limitless – what an awesome movie.  Bradley Cooper is a hottie, but I enjoyed the way he portrayed his character. Lunch at Fego Cafe and shopping at Woolies afterwards.I have a long list of things I need for the house: Blind for bathroom, storage for bath towels, new duvet cover, new lampshade
  • Watched The Back up Plan & 17 Again because Tee twisted my rubber arm & I do so like me a bit of Zac.
  • Went through to a school friend’s wedding (this was the dilemma on an outfit to wear) I ended up wearing a Ginger Mary dress I had just bought for work as the weather was cold. It was perfect & I got some nice compliments. (After trying the Big Blue skirt on, my fat hips made it look frumpy – however as per my original promise, I did say the person to help me most would receive a photo and see who the real Flirty30 is – winner: keep an eye out!)
  • Caught up after the wedding with dinner with some friends & slept at my parents house
  • Noah came to visit & spent the entire day playing with him. Afterwards, mom cut my hair into the new style which I am loving
  • Shopping at Melrose Arch with some delicious milkshakes at the Protea Fire & Ice
  • Had sushi dinner at YuMe – their Dim Sum and Salmon Roses are to die for
  • Got together at Design Quarter & did some serious shopping. I found a lampshade, duvet cover, bathroom blind & basket for bath towels.

  • To reward ourselves we went to 1 of my favourite places: Buddha Ta. They have a specialty Mojito called a Candy Mojito. I can’t even tell you how divine it is. You get a martini glass of Candy Floss and the mojito gets poured on top of it and the candyfloss melts. It is such a treat & just Too Divine
  • Ended it off with more sushi at CTFM with my friend T – her & her husband are going through the process of adoption as they are unable to have children of their own. They have asked me to help them create a profile for when they are picked as a possible match. The natural mother reads all their profiles and picks them that way. So I want to design a storybook written as kiddies story: Once upon a time there was a girl named T…. she met G and they fell in love….. I think that will be fun.
  • Throughout the weekend I laughed so hard with my girls. I am so blessed to have them in my life & to be able to share everything with them – the good & the bad.
  • I have booked a table at my favourite restaurant in Parys: Ruby’s.(Another one of my birthday traditions) We’ll be donning our feather boas and having a girls day out – Mom, Tee, AC, Li & myself.
