This is Me – Round up

Ok guys – I have been really slack – so instead of procrastinating and trying to do a bigger collage – this is what I have put together.
I wanted to do more, but I just never seem to get there.
A big thank you to everyone that participated – I had an absolute blast.
I have pretty much made up my mind about the winner, but I would like to mention a few photos that were big contenders:
Reni over at My So-Called Life posted a stunning photo of a bicycle that had a cart full of colourful paintings for sale at her local market.
Check it out HERE

SwissMiss: Her waterfall called Bath – very original – loved it!

Kate’s Car – I loved the layout – looks like a magazine advert

Beautiful architecture from SwissTwist – I love the way the angle of the photo enhances the grandeur of the building

The 2 Finalists are as follows (this is very ironic as I am a Cat Lover!):

Claudz’ Doggy
Kate’s Doggy

And the winner (after much deliberation & dragging colleagues in to give their opinion) is…
Kate’s Doggy!
He looks so long suffering as the snow falls on his nose – and I love the almost Fish Eye view making his nose bigger. 🙂
Well done Kate – please email me your address so that I can send you your little gift

This is Me # 34: Something random

Ruby’s – Parys
I adore this little restaurant nestled along the main road in Parys.
Classy, interesting, luxurious.
Each table is decorated differently in rich colours and a variety of textures and designs delight your eye whichever way you look.
The decor is elegantly different and entertaining.
The food? Simply Divine

This is Me # 33: A painting or a mural

Sistine Chapel

These photos were sneakily snapped on our visit to the Vatican City. Anyone caught taking photos was excorted out – the guards were very grumpy that day, but I couldn’t sit there in awe and not have any photographic evidence :-p

Michelangelo was a great artist – these murals being a prime example.

This is Me # 31: Architecture & 32: A book you’re reading

#31: Achitecture

I have always found buildings to be beautiful – their silence tells a story of the lives of people that have past before them. Their silence speaks of great joy, sorrow and nostalgia

  1. A Cathedral in London – and the name totally escapes me – anyone out there know its name?
  2. The Cathedral of S. Maria del Fiore – Florence Italy. Built from subtly coloured marble
  3. The bapistry and Cathedral in the forground with the Leaning Tower of Pisa in the background – beautiful architecture. Construction of the tower of Pisa began in 1173 and went on for 177 years
# 32: A book you’re reading
I must be very honest – I have been reading this book forever and I am really not enjoying it.
I have never not finished a book, so I am forcing my way through it.
Has anyone else out there read it? Your opinion?

This is me # 29: Cake & # 30: Pretty Flowers

# 29: Cake
This is from a wedding I went to in Nelspruit – all the decor was black & white – it was gorgeous!
#30: Pretty Flowers

Clockwise starting with main picture:
  1. Wedding flowers from Lizette’s wedding
  2. Ruby’s in Parys – their tables are all unique & always stunning
  3. Pink Tulips from the Annual tulip fair in Belfast
  4. Yellow Tulips from the same fair

This is me – This is Us

This is me over at My So Called Life wrote the following about the This is Me Photo Challenge:

It’s been fun & refreshing to do because of the many opportunities to take new photos and look back at the old ones filled with memories – good or bad. This photo challenge has the perfect name: “this is me” My experience has brought me back to many facets, aspects and times of life that make me who I am

I could not have described it better! I gave alot of thought to the seemingly random photos.
I wanted the photos to give us an insight into each other – our personal tastes and experiences and I have really enjoyed the journey so far.

To This is me – I am so glad that you have enjoyed this challenge!

This is Me # 28 & the next installment

I might share the recipe with you 1 day if I am feeling generous –  as it is a closely guarded secret!

Next installment:

#29: Cake

This is Me # 26 & # 27

#26: A sunset

I have many gorgeous pics, but all of them are stored on cds at the back of my cupboard – I did find this one that I love. That is me and Alex.

# 27: A bicycle

This was taken at my friend’s recent wedding – wonder if that was ever a real bicycle….
