It’s Prestige time!

Years ago I mentioned to my friends that Ster Kinekor or Nu Metro (cinemas) should install 2 rows of reclining chairs at the back of the cinema house and charge a premium for it.
I would pay extra for some added comfort in a movie house!

As with all my other brilliant ideas, I spoke about it and promptly forgot about it.

Fast forward to 2014 and Ster Kinekor now have the Cine Prestige. (I should have given them the idea and claimed free movies for a lifetime)

Tickets are quite pricey, but it is worth trying the experience at least once.

Your waiting area is a chic bar and comfortable couches and tub chairs.
The menu choices consist of delicious choices like Red Velvet cake, Meat and snack platters, Nachos and an assortment of drinks – all served on actual crockery.
Your order is taken at your couch and captured by friendly staff using an iPad and then delivered to your chair inside the cinema (your little side table even has a light).

I was intrigued by the walkway into the cinema, it felt like I was boarding a spaceship. I love the neon purple light!

All Aboard!

As we sank into the comfort of our chairs, I realised that this would not be the last time I visited Cine Prestige.

The cup-holder even has a cooling function to keep drinks cold!
Reclining in Comfort
We watched Begin Again with Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo & Adam Levine and I was able to snuggle up to T and even lie on his shoulder while watching the movie.

Smile – you’re Prestigious!

This really was a fun experience, I really recommend you spoil yourself for date night and pay Cine Prestige a visit.

I would recommend that you make sure your toes look pretty – when the seats are back, your feet are up in the air for everyone to see!

PS: The movie is definitely worth a watch – I was so impressed with Kiera Knightley’s singing – her voice is beautiful.

Movies & lessons learnt

I watched The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel today.

I learnt some great lessons:

  1. You are never too old to try new things
  2. You should always be open to new experiences
  3. Kindness can penetrate even the darkest of souls
  4. Real Love is always Right – you cannot force it or wish it out of your heart

These are all things we should know, but it is nice to be reminded about it sometimes isn’t it?

21 Things about Me # 4 / Twenty Wishes for 2014

I am a bit behind, so excuse me while I play catch up:

List FOUR goals you plan to accomplish in the future
I am actually not much of a planner – never have been. This list really is difficult & I cannot come up with 4 goals.
Most of my goals such as –  own a home, see One Direction live, take mom overseas for the first time – have been/are being realised.

So with that I will give you 1 goal:

  1. Take my dad for an overseas holiday – probably to see the Rugby Sevens tournament somewhere awesome like Hong Kong.
The bonding time with my mom in the UK is going to be amazing. I need the same with my dad. With all his health scares, I want to be able to do this with him before it is too late. Dad and I used to go on road trips to Cape Town and discuss all sorts of things on the 11 hour drive. We have not done this for a very long time.
The rest are all wishes & seeing as I have not yet posted my Twenty Wishes for 2014 ( I compiled it in January, but never blogged it) – here they are:
  1. Buy a really pretty dress – Similar to a LBD – in case I ever need an outfit
  2. Try Pilates
  3. Host more dinner parties/luncheons
  4. Learn to cook more recipes
  5. Eat More fruit
  6. Go to a movie by myself
  7. Kiss a stranger
  8. Take more photos & complete my Project 365 challenge
  9. Fix my dry feet
  10. Do another spontaneous thing (2013: Bought 1D tickets)
  11. Have High Tea in London
  12. Fall in Love
  13. Buy a nice fitting blazer
  14. Read a great book
  15. Watch a classic movie
  16. Drink more water
  17. Get my weight below 70kg
  18. Tone my stomach
  19. Work less
  20. Be a happier person

"This Is The End" movie redeems itself

From the Producers of Knocked Up and Super Bad comes the next installment in Guy toilet humour: This is the End.

I have a dirty sense of humour, but these movies are enough to make even me feel like a prude in some scenes.

I think the guys enough this type of movie with never-ending references to penises, cum and the likes.

When that type of thing is not happening, this movie is hilarious. James Franco and Seth Rogan are a brilliant comedic pair. Paul Rudd, Emma Watcson & Rihanna all make guest appearances.

At the end of the movie they are all in heaven and they are told that they can have anything they wish for, and Jay wishes for this: The Backstreet Boys

I got chills as they started singing!
This made the entire movie so worthwhile! Nick Carter has become super hot and my favourite Brian still looks good.

Weekend Recap

This past week has been a very busy one!

On Saturday was our regular book club meeting.

This week the theme was 80s.

I had alot of fun with my hair crimper and blue eyeshadow & wish I had taken a close up photograph.

This was the overall result:

On Sunday the girls & I went to watch Dark Shadows and had sushi for lunch. I do love Johnny Depp in these roles, however I felt that a part of the storyline was so random & a bit over the top, but otherwise it was entertaining enough for a day out.

On Tuesday I went to my friend AC to watch Vampire Diaries, I do so enjoy that series!

On Thursday we had dinner with a supplier at Mythos and I tried a steak topped with feta cheese and olives. Simply delicious.

Friday was a frightfully dreadful day at work, making me happier that I at least sent in my Top Billing audition papers. That night I did some home decorating and put up my new wall art vinyl stickers in my bedroom as well as revamped my fridge:

It was harder than expected, & instead of going to the gym (seeing as I am supposed to get back into it), I curled up on the couch with my kitties and watched quite a few episodes of Secret Circle. I am loving this series too!

Saturday I had breakfast with my friend at Design Quarter and then went on a huge window shopping spree. I didn’t buy anything, but then got home and regretted it.

I even cooked a meal for myself (we should be getting snow) I cooked roast chicken last week and this week was a delicious fish and salad. Who knew I had it in me.

Lately after my body has decided to reject everything I usually eat I am having to become more innovative and it seems cooking from scratch is the way to do it.

Today I went back to the shops and bought a new pillow – I have not slept well these past 2 weeks and I am hoping that apart from stress, that it is because of my pillow.

I also bought a gorgeous photo frame which I can now fill with photos and put up on my wall.

I bought a totally unnecessary mug which says “faking It” My life motto is

If you don’t Feel it, Fake it

So you can understand why  I bought it! 🙂

I also finally invested in a spaghetti spoon, I make too much mess trying to dish spaghetti up with a fork.

That has been my week. What did you get up to?

What have I been doing?

I am spending less money when I go out

I signed up for my very 1st GlossyBox and will receive it in June. Hope I get some nice goodies to try out.

I have finished as far as I can go on Fringe Season 4 and I am dying to get my hands on more.

I am waiting for the final 3 episodes of Vampire Diaries S3, anybody have them yet?

Getting together with the Girls & watching The Vow today with Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams. It’s bound to be a tear-jerker. I have been dying to watch this movie since I saw the trailer a few weeks back.

I also cannot wait to watch The Lucky One based on the Nicholas Sparks novel, watch this steamy trailer & tell me you are not wanting to be in her place:

Spending Sunday with my mom for Mothers Day and I hope she likes her present. I am also hoping to get her other present in time – a canvas mounted picture from my brothers wedding – I am going to use the 1st pic for mom and I think I will do the family picture for me:

Buying the 2nd Hunger Games book – I am ashamed to say I have’t a clue what it is called, I just know I need it. My attention is not really being held by books at the moment and The Hunger Games is the 1st book in a while that I really enjoyed.

Buying another pack of white chocolate Tim Tams – I adore white chocolate and when I found the white chocolate Tim Tams in the shop I did a little “eeeek” and then proceeded to dance a happy dance then snapped a pic of the Tim Tams to send to Tee. Turns out she had been saving the surprise for my birthday. Oops!

What have you been up to?

The Avengers

Tee & I went to the watch The Avengers last night and I cannot even adequately describe how much I enjoyed this movie!

Throughout the movie I kept finding myself with a huge grin on my face and thinking how much I was loving it.

This movie really gets the adrenaline going. The humour was so well executed that we were laughing out loud in some parts… & often clapping too!

I don’t know the storyline about The Black Widow or Hawk and I didn’t watch Hulk (although if I had known sooner than Mark Ruffalo was the hulk I would’ve watched it as I think he is an awesome actor.) but having watched Iron Man, Thor & Captain America, I knew we were in for a treat when they were all together in The Avengers – and I was not disappointed at all.

As so often happens when you have a movie with so many strong characters (or actors, think Valentine’s Day for example), you tend to have to squeeze so much in that you lose a sense of each character’s main purpose & you end up feeling that you were missing that little extra punch.

Excellent direction helped each character to maintain their identity & still complement each others’ abilities & make for an excellent movie.

Everytime I thought I had my favourite character, then someone else went and did something kick-ass and I just couldn’t decide!

I love how the characters fight each other in the beginning, trying to show each other who is boss. It’s the action-movie-goers ultimate wet-dream, watch all your characters fight it out and see who truimphs.

Thor & Captain America looked deliciously buff and I kept finding myself wondering who would win in an arm-wrestle.

After trawling Google images for topless pics of these 2 actors (yes, it was hard work, but all in the name of good blogging) I cannot decide.

Obviously with Thor being a demi-god, he is an imposing character, but I think with clever costumes and camera angles they made him appear a lot bigger. From the looks of them, they seem to be pretty well matched.

Let us for a moment enjoy the male-godness of these 2….

You can wrap those arms around me anytime!
Man… I am BUFF!

Hard to choose… yes I told you it would be!

Who would your money be on?

Moving slightly off-track…

Here is a cute picture of Chris Evans before he bulked up and looked all “good-boy-soldier” for Captain America:

I love the messy dark hair on him.

The Aussie brothers Liam and Chris Hemsworth are both cute, looking at this pic though, I must say that Chris is the more sexy, rugged of the 2.

So in summary – I highly recommend that you watch The Avengers and come back and tell me you did not enjoy this movie immensely.

What they now need to do is come out with a box-set of all the movies together. I would make the box an awesome-looking metal case with the markings of Thor’s axe and the high-techness (yes I just made a new word) that is Tony Stark with some Stars from Captain America’s costume.

The Lucky One with Zac Efron

I am a big fan of Nicolas Sparks books/movies and The Lucky one is his latest book-turned movie.
Starring my cutie pie Zac Efron, this looks like a good movie. I will be sure to bring my tissues with, because we all know that no Sparks novel leaves a person dry-eyed.
Check out that love scene, yummy topless Zac…. *drool*
